DECLARATION OF FAITH

  We Believe:

1.   In the verbal inspiration of the Bible.
2.   In one God eternally existing in three persons; namely, the Father, Son and Holy Ghost.
3.  That Jesus is the only begotten Son of the Father, conceived of the Holy Ghost and born of the
Virgin Mary. That Jesus was crucified, buried, and raised from the dead. That He ascended to
heaven and is today at the right hand of the Father as the Intercessor.
4.  That all have sinned and come short of the glory of God and repentance is commanded of God for
all, and necessary for forgiveness of sins.
5.  That justification, regeneration and the new birth are wrought by faith in the blood of Jesus Christ.
6.  In sanctification, subsequent to the new birth, through faith in the blood of Christ, through the
Word, and by the Holy Ghost.
7.  Holiness to be God’s standard of living for His people.
8.  In the baptism with the Holy Ghost subsequent to a clean heart.
9.  In speaking in other tongues as the Spirit gives utterance and that it is the initial evidence of the
     baptism in the Holy Ghost.
10. In water baptism by immersion, and all who repent should be baptized in the name of the Father,
and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost.
11. Divine healing is provided for all in the Atonement.
12. In the Lord’s Supper and the washing of the saint’s feet.
13. In the premillennial second coming of Jesus. First to resurrect the righteous dead and to catch
away the living saints to Him in the air. Second, to reign on the earth a thousand years.
14. In the bodily resurrection; eternal life for the righteous and eternal punishment for the wicked.

Our Vision Statement

To Win Lost Souls for Christ,
To Make Disciples
and
To Plant New Ministries
by
“Reaching into the Harvest.”

Our Core Strategy

From this diagram you can see how each area of ministry is a separate, yet connected function.  These ministries individually serve as a catalyst to the whole dynamic process of our core strategy.  The positive flow of this ministerial concept will be initiated through intense Discipleship Training.  This will provide the spark necessary to encourage our church to become a healthy and productive congregation.  As the congregation continues to grow and be more productive, committed leaders will be developed who possess the biblical DNA mindset, for the ministries they plant to be germinal.  This means that each new ministry planted will be able to multiply our core strategy with unlimited possibilities.  Furthermore, this ministry-planting concept removes cultural and philosophical barriers, setting a new paradigm among ministry planting models.  It is our intent to evangelize Sussex County by using this strategy, to advance God’s kingdom throughout Delaware and the Delmarva Peninsula.

The Reason for Our Commitments

Discipleship Training
Ministry Strengthening
Leadership Development
Ministry Planting

We have adopted these four objectives because our vision for Seaford-Clarence Street Church of God is simple, it’s Biblical!  God’s will for advancing His kingdom, rests upon these four foundational pillars.  For example, the Lord Jesus Christ trained His disciples and equipped them with power before they won the lost, Mk 1:16-17, and Acts 1:8.  The Great Commission in Matt 28:19-20 admonishes us to make disciples also.  This discipleship emphasis will produce successful clergy, church leaders and laity of the ministry.  The Apostles implemented this strategy to spark ministry, growth, strength and leadership in Acts 14:21-23, 15:41 and Acts 16:5.  In 2 Tim 2:2, the Apostle Paul tells Timothy to commit the gospel to faithful men who shall be able to teach others also.  This implies that leadership development should be a necessary, yet continuous process.  In Matt 16:18 the Lord Jesus Christ states “And I say also unto thee, that thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church and the gates of Hell shall not prevail against it;” this means that the church is to always advance itself through new converts and ministry planting.  When news came to the Jerusalem church from the Apostle Peter about how the Holy Ghost fell on the Gentiles, the congregation sent forth Barnabas to go as far as Antioch to plant more ministries, Acts 11:22.  As a result, we have focused our vision on these four Foundational Pillars:  Discipleship Training, Ministry Strengthening, Leadership Development, and Ministry Planting as our method to advance God’s kingdom in our region.
